Great service and a wonderful hot roast beef sandwich

Small restaurant, very busy, but the wait service was so fast you didn't even notice.

Let me first say if your looking for a place that is observing the the mask order, stay far from this place. Not 1 worker that I saw had a mask on. When I walked in I asked do we have to wear a mask because I had mine on and the girl said no. I witnessed a tabel being wiped down however she didnt wipe the salt or peppers down which made no sense. The seating is tight or I guess they way seating was prior to covid I assume. The food was good until I bit into a hard object that ended up being a bread tie. It was mixed into my omelet. They did take it off my bill and apologize a few times. I was not going write a review but after going to another breakfast place down the road and saw how cautious they were being I thought why is the place any better and they do not have to follow the same guidelines.

I just got done savoring their hot roast beef sandwich. Omgosh! So delicious! The meat was generous, the gravy was dark, rich, and seasoned to perfection!, and the mashed potatoes were like homemade! I highly recommend this place. Thank you!

The best restaurant in town! My family and I visited after recently getting a cabin in the area and were finding a place to get some dinner and came across this gem. Amazing food with great portions, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend.

We ate here a lot. Decent food, decent prices. Unfortunately, being a very small place, you have to plan tables, and the amount of people appropriately. We had a party of 6 and they have only one table that accommodates a party of 6. No problem, we can split. They offered to do that, but proceeded to give tables away to other parties that arrived after us. Don’t know if there is just no communication, or what. The people working that day seemed to not care whatsoever. We walked out.

The food was good. It was the kind you would find at a hometown diner, not amazing hut good. The portions were large and worth it at the price. Food was quick to be served and came out hot and the service was excellent.

Great place My husband and I both got fish and it was delicious. Their baked sweet potatoes are to die for, had to get one to go!

Have lady repeat your order to you before hanging up. I specifically asked for 2 orders if beer battered cod both with green beans both with fries and slaw.Got to restaurant and told $1200 and some change. I said I ordered two orders. The other waitress started saying that the person who placed the order said one. I was the one who placed the order, I know what was said. She even had to check to see if they had enough. No apologies, just a bunch of sass. I've been coming here since they opened. Sad, but I will now try Randy's. I'm sure they will appreciate 2 takeouts a week extra.

Garrett's place was not following any safety protocols,were not asking customers to wear masks and you can sit at any table

Absolutely wonderful experience. Tracy was a amazing waitress. I HIGHLY recommend the seafood platter. Enough for lunch and leftovers for dinner later. Sooooo tasty!!

Fantastic food at great prices. Their chicken Chimichangas are phenomenal. They put hollandaise on the top, its amazing. Jennifer did a great job waiting on us. Attentive and helpful.

I used to come here with my mom all the time when I was a kid. I hadn't been for several years. She passed last Oct and I was finally able to make the trip out yesterday. The best burger of my life just like back then!

Always an excellent meal. The lasttime we were there service was quick and efficient. As a veteran service industry employee, We are the toughest customers. Fish n chips was bomb, sweet potato perfect, salad cold and crisp with ‘good ranch’. Heading back now, for that killer country fried steak n eggs! Also the best around!

I had the absolute pleasure of eating there for the very first time Saturday night with my fiancé and son during our weekend trip to Houghton Lake. It was a great experience from the minute we walked in until we left. The staff greeted us at the door and assured us it was no problem dining in within 45 minutes of their closing time. They were all so welcoming and friendly. We ordered our meals and had our appetizers and salads within minutes and they were all so delicious. Our waitress heard that my fiancé just had oral surgery the two days before and brought her 2 hot and fresh rolls without us even ordering them because she knew she couldn't eat any of the appetizers. The food was amazing and the service was even better. We will be dining here for every meal when we travel up north to Houghton again. Hands down my new favorite diner in the state!!
